In terms of ethic or scientific, the animal experiment all doesn’t have proper reason. Some scientists think the people who against the animal experiment are too fussy, those scientists are very selfish and think the problem is really simple, victimize animals is for helping human. For this, the dissenters said the question ‘saving a mouse and a kid, which is more important’ is unfounded, they found another perspective: Why not try to save both? Why we must force people be in guilty for choosing one from them? The animal experiment is bad and brute science, the British philosopher Penman in 18th century said: “The problem doesn’t depend on whether they are clever or not, and the problem is not they can talk or can’t. The thing is about they can feel pain or happiness.
I know I speak for animals, if you think what I have said so far still not strong enough, I’d like to show you some statistics from the United States Department of Animal Inspection Service. They published a document titled the Animal Welfare Enforcement Report, for short AWER. The report tells us that 1,416,643 animals were experimented in 2000. This number is broken by species: 69,516 dogs, 258,754 rabbits, 25,560 cats, 174,146 hamsters, 571,660 pigs, 235,558 other animals, and so on. According to the report 104,202 of these animals were used in painful or stressful experimentation without benefit of anesthesia. Also, more than 2.7 million animals experimented in Britain in 2002. This number is the half of last 30 years.
Animals are one of the most important parts of this world, and they are also the grace from God. Whether we are too attention on ourselves and selfish, and already forget the human nature? The animals and human all made by God, they are not playthings by exchanging money, they are not the slaves for human, they can feel pain or happiness, they can understand love. In western-country has a proverb: Human is the only kind of animal can blush with shame, also must blush with shame. When we face to this world, whether should we examine our conscience: What have we done to this world? What should we do after all? Ask not what animals can do for you; ask what you can do for animals. Stop animal experiment, our world will be more beautiful!
